Super Rugby Pacific Round 13
Highlanders vs Western Force
Friday 13/05/2022, 05:05pm AEST at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin, New Zealand
Boy weren’t the Highlanders brave against the Reds. They lost two men to yellow cards and conceded just the one try before striking themselves prior to half-time. They came out in the second half with more intent and put the Reds to bed nicely and despite the Highlanders having a couple of hiccups around the rucks and defensively, the Reds were equally as poor. The Force, on the other hand, started with a flurry before the Crusaders shifted gear and destroyed them in front of their home fans. They were shocking at the breakdown and I believe that’s where the rest of the problems eventuated but they were never going to be a match for the Crusaders.
The Highlanders are at home and I don’t see them losing. This could get worse before it gets better for the Force.
Predictions:
Tip: Highlanders ($1.08)
Line: Highlanders -15.5 ($1.83)
Margin: Highlanders 13+

ACT Brumbies vs Crusaders
Friday 13/05/2022, 07:45pm AEST at GIO Stadium, Canberra, Australia
This is the match of the round! The scoreline doesn’t depict just how good the Brumbies were against the Chiefs, in New Zealand nonetheless. They got torn apart defensively but their goal-line defense was immaculate. They barely turned the ball over, they were good in the breakdown and set plays and their discipline was pretty good. They are the real deal and Australia’s best chance of taking the Super Rugby title. The Crusaders were back to their brilliant best against the Force and nothing was going to stop them.
This is going to be a brilliant game and I am edging the way of the Brumbies at home but this is going to be a thriller.
Predictions:
Tip: ACT Brumbies ($2.38)
Line: ACT Brumbies +3.5 ($1.91)
Margin: ACT Brumbies 1-12
*Prices via Ladbrokes as of 10/05/2022
Bet: This is going to be tight but I reckon the Brumbies can take the big scalp of the Crusaders. This is an early finals match-up and could potentially give the Brumbies a cemented top-two spot and the Crusaders will want that second spot also. Brumbies H2H | 2u @ $2.38
Fijian Drua vs Moana Pasifika
Saturday 14/05/2022, 02:35pm AEST at CommBank Stadium, Sydney, Australia
This is a cracking match-up of two newest franchises which I am sure is going to have plenty of firepower as both teams don’t want to finish bottom of the table. Fijian Drua is coming back from a horror trip to New Zealand after going down 62 points in a total annihilation by the Hurricanes. They were dominated all over the park and I am hopeful that it doesn’t scar them too much for this contest. Moana Pasifika was so tough against a gallant Waratahs but a late yellow card put the nail in the coffin as the Waratahs score 12 points to secure the win.
This is going to be a cracking game but surely all the travel for Fijian Drua is going to catch up with them whilst Moana Pasifika would be more well-rested. I think this will remain close but Moana Pasifika to win.
Predictions:
Tip: Moana Pasifika ($2.20)
Line: Moana Pasifika +2.5 ($1.83)
Margin: Moana Pasifika 1-12
*Prices via Ladbrokes as of 10/05/2022
Bet: Moana Pasifika to win in a tight one. Expect a small flurry of points late in the game as Fijian Drua tire. Moana Pasifika H2H | 2u @ $2.20
Blues vs QLD Reds
Saturday 14/05/2022, 05:05pm AEST at Eden Park, Auckland, New Zealand
There is no team on fire more than the Blues and this could get ugly for the tough yet injury-plagued Reds. The Blues were rampant against the Rebels posting 71 points in a massive win where the game was over by half-time. There isn’t much to dissect from that game except the Blues needing some improvement in their lineout work but they were pretty flawless. The Reds have been injury ravished but were nothing but tough against the Highlanders but they failed to capitalise on the 2 man advantage early and in the end, they just couldn’t get past the Highlanders. Their scrums didn’t have the same fire as they did with Tupou in the pack and that could be their weak point for the remainder of the season.
Blues to win comfortably.
Predictions:
Tip: Blues ($1.08)
Line: Blue -15.5 ($1.83)
Margin: Blues 13+

NSW Waratahs vs Hurricanes
Saturday 14/05/2022, 07:45pm AEST at Leichhardt Oval, Sydney, Australia
This is going to be another cracking game and I think the market is too far gone. The Waratahs are that tough gritty team that likes a dog fight and they have a tremendous goal-line defensive line. I think they were a touch out-done for enthusiasm by the Moana Pasifika team and remember, that was their first trip across the ditch, so a lot to learn from that. Darren Coleman will have them on the tape after that match where they struggled a touch in areas they probably shouldn’t have. The Hurricanes were flawless against Fijian Drua and I think that match has overplayed this market.
Waratahs in a tight one.
Predictions:
Tip: NSW Waratahs ($3.10)
Line: NSW Waratahs +7.5 ($1.91)
Margin: Waratahs 1-12
*Prices via Ladbrokes as of 10/05/2022
Bet: The Waratahs are tough and the Hurricanes are about to find that out. Waratahs being at home gives them a slight advantage but their toughness will be on show once again. Waratahs H2H | 2u @ $3.10 / Waratahs +7.5 | 3u @ $1.91
Melbourne Rebels vs Chiefs
Sunday 15/05/2022, 02:00pm AEDST at Aami Park, Melbourne, Australia
This is going to be a big mismatch. The Chiefs were tough against the Brumbies before the class of the Brumbies shined through. The Chiefs will take a lot from that game and that is going to be a worry for the Rebels team who is going to be lacking in confidence following their embarrassing defeat at the hands of the Blues. This is going to be a battle of mindsets and the Chiefs will no doubt be in a better place than the Rebels.
Chiefs to continue the heartache for the Rebels.
Predictions:
Tip: Chiefs ($1.08)
Line: Chiefs -16.5 ($1.91)
Margin: Chiefs 13+
