Big Bash Preview – December 23

The old Junction Oval in Melbourne hosts the first of the big bash matches on Friday afternoon.

Both sides have one win and one loss to their name and will see this an important game to ensure they don’t slip behind the win/loss ledger early in the tournament.

Whilst on paper there may seemingly be not much between the two sides, I think the expierece of the Scorchers will count for a lot here and if the old heads of Lyth and du Plessis can negate any early impact from Trent Boult with the new ball, the Scorchers will take home the points.

The final big bash game this side of Christmas takes place between the Strikers and the Heat in Brisbane on Friday Night.

Unfortunately for Heat fans their poor form from last season has continued into this season.  Aside from Colin Munro, Sam Billings and Matt Renshaw their batting order looks very weak and their bowling is just okay.

On the other hand the Adelaide Strikers are flying.  Their bowling is as good as any in the comp and their batting is very very solid.   Barring an off night with the bat, they will be way too strong for the Heat.
