The closest we got last week was Charl Schwartzel ($81 each way missing by one shot). In the LPGA Bianca Pagdanagdanan finished 19th with a strong finishing round of a tourney best 63. Back to form we won’t be getting the $940 odds again.

Presidents Cup

The PGA Tour takes a holiday and the PGA organised Presidents Cup is played at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 7600 yard (6950m) par 72 with a course rating of 77.2 and a Slope of 148 was originally designed by George Cobb and redesigned by later by Arnold Palmer and Tom Fazio.

Due to the numbers of prominent Internationals having joined the LIV Tour and subsequently banned from this event the quality of opposition to the US Tour has been sabotaged dramatically. The US traditionally makes mincemeat of the Internationals on their home courses, but there is still a host of very talented young players chosen. Personally I would have chosen Lucas Herbert and Ryan Fox into this team as they are both mercurial and in 18 hole Matchplay that can be a winning formula.

I think the US will win, but I’ll try to find some value in early individual matches.

These will appear intermittently on Backawinners.com.au if I see value.
