There are 12 runners for the 2024 Schweppes Ascot 1000 Guineas. The early favourite is Own The Queen who returned from an eight-week let-up for an impressive win over 1400m at Ascot. Second favouritism is split between  Miss Skyhigh who has a win and a place from her 3 starts, and So Nataya who has placed in both her starts. Queen Nardi comes off a good win at Geraldton and has won 3 of her 5 starts this preparation, while Guarding Heaven has 2 wins from 8 starts this preparation but the distance is a query. The other runners are currently $12 or longer.

She has 2 wins from 8 starts this preparation but the distance is a query as she faded in the final 200m when 6th in the Group 3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes over 1600m at Ascot back in November. At her latest start she was 4th to Bondi Bubbles in the Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy over 1200m at Pinjarra. Not out of it.

2. Queen Nardi (3)

Comes off a good win at Geraldton on 22nd February and has won 3 of her 5 starts this preparation. One of the main chances.

3. Own The Queen (10)

Returned from an eight-week let-up for an impressive win over 1400m at Ascot to give her 2 wins from 3 starts. Strong chance.

4. Starating (2)

Ran 1.7 lengths 3rd in a 2YO+ Fillies & Mares Class 1 Handicap over 1400m at Ascot on 21st January (won by Papavero Princess), after breaking her maiden at Pinjarra the start before. Can place.

5. Miss Skyhigh (6)

Ran 4th to Papavero Princess in the same race as Starating last start and has a win and a place from her 3 starts. Place chance.

6. Bohemian Diamond (8)

Finished a length 2nd in a 2YO+ Maiden Set Weights race over 1600m at Ascot on 21st January (won by Hero Hunter) Has been runner-up at 2 of her 3 starts. This looks too hard.

7. Guess Who’s Back (4)

One of 3 runners who had their last start in a 2YO+ Maiden Set Weights race over 1400m at Ascot on 21st January (won by Stylish Lord). She finished 8th and is still a maiden after 8 starts. Looking to others.

8. Lead By Example (1)

Finished 9th behind Hero Hunter and Bohemian Diamond last stat. No.

9. Miss Boudica (12)

Ran 13th of 14 behind Stylish Lord last start. Needs an easier race than this.

10. So Nataya (7)

Has placed in both her starts. The latest was 3rd to Stylish Lord. Capable of improving.

11. Queen Of Chaos (9)

Finished 4th in a 2&3YO No Metro Win Handicap over 1400m at Ascot on 21st January (won by Another Strike). That was only her 2nd start and she is a sneaky place chance.

Ran 6th to Another Strike last outing. Not keen.
