Amjaad (Ascot Race 1 No. 5)
On debut this filly was blocked for a run before finishing 2.5 lengths 4th over 1200m at Belmont on 25 June, then was spelled for 15 weeks. She resumed for a narrow win over 1400m at Northam on 13 October and the horse she beat won on Northam Cup day. Rates highly with Patrick Carbery retaining the ride, and is well placed here.

Best Each Way
King Kashoo (Ascot Race 6 No. 4)
This four-year-old Mahuta gelding trained by Adam Durrant has a win and two place from six starts. He resumed from an 18 week spell to finish 2.7 lengths 3rd in a Class One Handicap over 1400m at Northam on 2 October, and should take improvement from that run. Clint Johnston-Porter is back on board and he looks a solid each-way chance.

Best Lay
Lord Gannicus (Ascot Race 7 No. 9)
This three-year-old Universal Ruler gelding is the early favourite in this Class Three Handicap race over 1500m. He finished 4.7 lengths 6th in a 3YO Plate over 1400m at Belmont on 24 September, then led all the way and got the bob in for a narrow win in a Class One Handicap over 1400m at Northam on 13 October. This is harder and I’m willing to risk him.
