Steps up to 1600m for the first time and looks as if it will suit. William Pike a bonus and should make it four wins in a row.

Ihts Closing Inn (Ascot Race 8 No. 10)
This three-year-old filly has a win and 2 places from 4 starts. She ran on strongly taking over inside the 100m for a 1.2 length win over 1400m at Geraldton on 25 January, then took over straightening but was no match in the final 200m and finished 3.4 lengths 3rd over 1650m at Belmont on 8 February. Comes back to 1400m here and looks a good each-way bet.

Mosquito (Ascot Race 4 No. 5)
This four-year-old gelding is the early favourite in this No Metro Wins Last Year Handicap over 1400m. Last start he slipped at the start then finished 0.4 length 2nd over 1400m at Belmont on 8 February. Hasn’t won at Ascot in 9 races here, and I’m prepared to risk him.
