Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Sunday’s meeting.
Originally scheduled for Saturday it was moved because of extreme temperatures.
Best Bet
A Lot Of Good Men (Ascot Race 5 No. 1)
Last start winner at start number 2 who ran 3rd on debut. After running 3rd in October he was put away for 15 weeks and ran on strongly to catch the leader late with the 3rd horse over 3 lengths behind them both over 1000m at Ascot on 21 January. Should win.
$2.30

Best Each Way
Corn Cob (Ascot Race 8 No. 9)
This 4YO gelding has won 11 of his 26 starts and is incredibly consistent. He kept coming steadily to get the bob in on the line for a narrow win over 1600m at Ascot on 14 January, then led into the straight before being overhauled in the final 100m for 2nd over 1800m at Ascot on 28 January. Back to a600m and on a seven day back-up. Looks well worth an each-way bet.
$6.50
Best Lay
Allmamoney (Ascot Race 7 No. 6)
This 5YO Al Maher mare is the early favourite in this Rating 66+ handicap over 1600m. She resumed from a massive 80 week break for a 0.3 length win over 1400m at Pinjarra Park on 31 December, then was blocked for a lot of the straight when 3.5 lengths 7th over 1600m at Ascot on 21 January. Likely to settle back in the field and needs luck. Offers no value at the $3.20.
$3.20

Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet can land us a win in the first. Best Bet Pee Dee (Quirindi Race 2 No. 1) Has been sound in both efforts to date and this race lacks any depth. The 5th last start is better than it reads on paper and that is in a race much harder than this. Goes in the mix here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bhakti Dave Each Way

Key Comments A big 10 race card takes place. The rail is in 3 metres. The track usually suits those who can sustain a long run to the line. That will suit the best bet who loves racing here and comes up later in the day. Best Bet Flame Tree Star (Grafton Race 1 No. 1) Has a booming turn of foot and while Swanston doesn't have the easiest pattern to catch, this track does suit and that shows with the 9 placings
