Best Bet
Truly Inspired (Ascot Race 2 No. 9)
This six-year-old Dundeel gelding is a last start winner at Ascot and has won 2 of his 7 starts. He came three wide on the turn, took over straightening and dashed away for a 3.4 length win over 1800m at Ascot on 9 November. Rates highly with William Pike riding.

Best Each Way
Let’s Galahvant (Ascot Race 6 No. 6)
Won three races in a row in September including the Listed Hannans Handicap at Kalgoorlie, before 1.9 lengths 9th in the Group 3 Asian Beau Stakes then runner up in the Group 3 R.J. Peters Stakes. On a seven day back-up and looks a solid each-way bet in the Carbine Club of WA Stakes.

Best Lay
Zephyra (Ascot Race 4 No. 15)
This four-year-old Demerit mare trained by Simon Miller is the early favourite in this Rating 66+ Handicap over 1400m. She won all 3 starts in her first campaign, then resumed after 23 weeks to start favourite and finish 3.5 lengths 9th in a Rating 66+ Handicap over 1200m at Ascot on 5 November. She gets blinkers on for the first time but I’m not sure that will be enough. Other runners offer better value.
