Clifton Hill has a good running pattern. It will land on the speed and be hard to get past. It was also a winner 2nd up last prep. There is plenty of value about the $5.00 on offer and maps to get a nice run from the draw.

Full Blown (Ballarat Race 1 No. 3)
Taking a chance on Full Blown to roll the favourite. Concede it was very poor the last time it raced on synthetic but it did improve well last start when ridden cold and I am backing the stable if it is running it on synthetic again. Go back to its debut run and it was a length off Wee Nessy who is a stakes winner since. Full Blown will settle off them, need tempo & luck in running but if things fall into place it can run over the top of these to kick off the day for us in style.

Smax (Ballarat Race 1 No. 6)
Smax has been trialling well but it comes across a decent field and there is too much of a gap in the market. Happy to slide with the one at odds in this field, the $1.90 is short enough against these on debut.
