A Penny Spent has been fantastic to us all prep wining twice as best of the day, one of those times at double figure odds. It can keep working through the grades and notch up another win for us here. Concede this race is harder than last start but it maps kindly, drops weight and handles all conditions. Hard to not see it being in the finish and we get $8.00 to find out.

Brillant Sapphire (Bairnsdale Race 7 No. 1)
Concede it got the gap at the right time but Brilliant Sapphire deserved the win last start after being heavily backed and can get another one on the board here. The apprentice will need some luck at the right time but hopefully she takes it straight to the front and it looks well in on the weights here considering it is staying in the same grade. The $3.40 appeals.

Best Lay
Oxley Jack (Bairnsdale Race 7 No.2)
Oxley Jack is going well however it looks poorly weighted against the main danger in the race. Lugging 62kgs won’t be an easy task and it may be forced to work early from the wide draw. The early $3.00 is short enough and I’m in the corner of the other chance in the race, Brillant Sapphire.
