Our Launceston Racing Tips for the weekend. The feature event is the Gold Sovereign Stakes (race 5).

Bello Beau (Launceston Race 5 No. 1)
With two wins from two starts, this Brazen Beau colt trained by Adam Trinder has had a flying start to his career. He debuted with a 0.75 length win over 1100m at Hobart on 29 December, then forged to the lead at the 200m and went clear for a two length win in the Listed Elwick Stakes over 1100m at Hobart on 23 January. Should keep his unbeaten record intact.

Argyle Beach (Launceston Race 6 No. 4):
This five-year-old Purrealist gelding trained by John Blacker has four wins and 12 places from 30 starts. He peaked on his run and the rider sat up through the final 100m for 7 lengths 7th over 1350m on the Devonport Tapeta Synthetic on 5 January, then he led throughout for a narrow win over 1600m at Launceston on 19 January. Returns to a shorter trip and looks a nice each-way bet.

Military Law (Launceston Race 7 No. 9):
This five-year-old Shamus Award gelding trained by Peter Luttrell has two wins and five places from 16 starts and is the early favourite in this 0-62 Rating Handicap over 1400m. He gradually pegged back the leader and won by 0.2 length in a Class 1 handicap over 1420m at Launceston on 14 January, then worked home nicely for 0.7 length 2nd in a Class 3 handicap over 1400m at Launceston on 26 January. Has drawn the outside barrier in this capacity field and prepared to risk him here.
