Our Launceston Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.
Best Bet
Shake Your Tooshy (Launceston Race 7 No. 7)
SHAKE YOUR TOOSHY bolted in last time at Launceston, and returns here after a plain run on the dirt only beaten 2L. Maps for a great run in behind the speed, and I think she’ll let down nicely late with 54.5kg and back on the grass.
Back SHAKE YOUR TOOSHY for 2 units WIN @ $4.00+
Best Each Way
King Island (Launcestont Race 3 No. 3):
I thought KING ISLAND Tasmanian debut was full of merit. He got balloted out of maiden and had to run in a class 1, and although the time was slow, I thought his run was pretty good. Caught wide the journey with a jockey who’d struggle to steer a shopping cart, and still hit the line. He goes back to maiden grade here from a softer draw, with a decent apprentice on. Think he’s the overs and worth a small play.
Back KING ISLAND for 0.25 units EW @ $10.00/3.00

Race Analysis
R1 1200m Maiden
Very even race, and rides will play a big part in the chance of runners.
I think PIIINK BEAUTY is fairly short here, I had her favourite, but closer to the $6.50 mark, than the $3.00 that has gone up.
LONDELANI was a horse I had some interest in. Mitch Freedman has sent this horse down early, with two runs under his belt, and although lacklustre to the eye, his latest trial on the syntho was much better and the horse looks to have improved. Tough draw, but if it goes forward, I think he’ll prove too good and Mitch Freedman will get a TASBred bonus for his troubles.
Back LONDELANI for 0.5 units WIN @ $8.00
R2 1200m Maiden
You know it’s a bad race when HER THOUGHTS comes up favourite, and it’s nearly justified.
Too short on my prices, and I’m keen to have a small EW bet on OLE OLA. I have her favourite at around the $6.00 mark, so $8.00 avail is worth something small EW, despite the pilot on board. Her trials were okay, and she showed improvement with each hit out. Think she lands near the speed and looks the one with upside
Back OLE OLA for 0.25 units EW @ $6.00/2.00
R3 1400m Maiden
Keen to have a pickle on a runner here at a decent price, in what looks a bad race.

R4 1400m 62 HCP
Not hugely keen to get involved here.
SPIRITED TOFF gets a nice map, and is a bit of a war horse up on speed. Not sure if I’m all that thrilled to be backing it with Parish on, but it’s overs in my markets. NEEDS TOASTING will be hard to beat, but jeez I was on for plenty last start and found one better, so don’t know if I can butter up again – would need $4.00+
Back SPIRITED TOFF for 0.25 units EW @ $10.00/3.00
R5 1400m BM68
Tough race, and looks a good one to watch. I had AZARA on top, with ALPINE BLAST slightly longer. No edge at current prices. Think AZARA the one that will show more improvement 2nd up, of the two.
The one that I thought might be worth something late was SCHAUFELLE. Thought it his the line good when unsuited by race shape and it copped a strange steer from a struggling 4kg apprentice. Maybe gets a kinder run here from the inside draw, with a senior rider.
Back SCHAUFFELE for 0.25 units WIN @ $12.00
R6 1100m BM68
Stack of speed in this one, with a short run into the 1st turn.
If there’s a bit of carnage up front I thought the horse who could hit the line late at a big price was GEE GEE TRUE STORY. Went okay l/s in a good race, and cops a massive jock upgrade here. He loves getting back on grass, and if he can improve on his l/s performance could be the blowout.
Back GEE GEE TRUE STORY for 0.25 units @ $30.00
R7 1200m 62HCP
Very keen to play here.

R8 1200m Class 1
If LASTAR jumps with them he just wins, but can’t suggest a bet at the current price. If it comes back out to $3.50, I’d be keen to back.
FIESTY LION could be a nice place bet, if he can get across to the lead, it’d be hard to miss a drum in this field.
