Fivefingerdiscount (Launceston Race 10 No. 1)
With two wins and two 2nds from four starts, this five-year-old Pins gelding has a top record. He led early and fought back when headed for 0.4 length 2nd over 1006m on a heavy track at Sale on 19 December, then returned from an eight week let-up for a 1.5 length win over 1200m at Hobart on 13 February. Has drawn the inside barrier and looks well placed here. Should win.

Indigo Girls (Launceston Race 4 No. 9):
This four-year-old Mawingo mare trained by Graeme McCulloch has two wins and three places from 16 starts. She was slow starting and was a clear last before working to the line for 2.5 lengths 5th over 2100m at Hobart on 23 January, then kept coming for a narrow win over 2100m at Launceston on 6 February. This is the same track and distance and she looks a good each-way bet.

Galenus (Launceston Race 6 No. 9):
This five-year-old Magnus gelding trained by Scott Brunton has five wins and two places from 10 starts and is the early favourite in this Quality Handicap over 1200m. When resuming from a 30 week spell he chased hard to the 150m when his run peaked and he finished 3.2 lengths 4th over 1000m at Flemington on 18 December, then he died on his run to finish 5.1 lengths 6th over 1120m at Launceston on 14 January. Hasn’t shown his best this campaign and I’m willing to risk him.
