This gelding is resuming for Team Brunton. Think he’s better than benchmark class and in the small field, it’s hard to go past him at around even money. He maps well, and with residual fitness from his May campaign in Victoria he should be sharp enough over 1100m. I have him clear favourite and will be betting accordingly.

Southern Wind (Launceston Race 2 No. 9):
In a card that I’ve found a few runners well in the market, I thought Southern Wind was a runner worth something small each-way. He ran on okay in his last couple starts behind some handy winners and from the soft draw could get a lovely run in transit and run into the money.

Pretty keen on the favourite here and wasn’t overly taken by Little Lionel’s trials. Very short for mine and willing to risk one unit on it not running past the post first.
