Our Launceston Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday.
Rail: +2m (Previously True)
Surface: Good 4/Soft 5
Notes: The Launceston track has recently undergone some repairs and raced well on debut last Friday night.
As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with an advantage to those who find the inside lanes in the straight.

Best Bet
Extreme Gem (Launceston Race 3 No. 1)
Going well this preparation and freshened for this. Has trialled between runs in decent time, when coursing wide on the track and hitting the line nicely. I think she should be favourite here – she maps well in behind the likely leader VOLKANOVSKI and should be finishing strongest, with her main rival in betting CAIRNS 1st up off only an average trial and suspect 2YO form last campaign. Graeme McCulloch’s mare should be registering her first win on Tasmanian soil.
$3.60 (at time of writing).
Best Each Way
Ngapali Beach (Launceston Race 1 No. 6):
Open maiden to start the night where current favourite STARS IN THE NIGHT carries plenty of convictions and despite running honestly for the majority, she’s a bit short to be piling in. One mare with potential upside might come from the Dylan Clark stable in NGAPALI BEACH. Well respected in betting in her first campaign, she failed to trouble the scorers but the form out of those maidens has been strong. She trialled very well at this track leading into this and I think we could see a forward showing, at a price.
$6.50/2.25 (at time of writing)
Best Lay
Hot Relation (Launceston Race 6 No. 3):
Going well this preparation but has now been up along time and to date, has struggled at the mile. He’s also struggled at this track/trip (4:0-0-0), not uncommon for horses with get-back-run-on racing patterns at Launceston.

Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet can land us a win in the first. Best Bet Pee Dee (Quirindi Race 2 No. 1) Has been sound in both efforts to date and this race lacks any depth. The 5th last start is better than it reads on paper and that is in a race much harder than this. Goes in the mix here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bhakti Dave Each Way

Key Comments A big 10 race card takes place. The rail is in 3 metres. The track usually suits those who can sustain a long run to the line. That will suit the best bet who loves racing here and comes up later in the day. Best Bet Flame Tree Star (Grafton Race 1 No. 1) Has a booming turn of foot and while Swanston doesn't have the easiest pattern to catch, this track does suit and that shows with the 9 placings
