Our Hobart Horse Racing Tips for Sunday’s meeting.
Key Comments
Track: Soft 5
Rail: +4m (Previously in the true position)
Notes:
Track continues to race well, with the rail moving out from the true position I think it could be an advantage to get to the middle of the track in the straight.
As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight.
Jockeys to follow:
– Troy Baker: 11.2%SR @ 5.5% POT @ Hobart
– David Pires: 26.8%SR @ 8.1% POT @ Hobart
Trainers to follow:
– JL Keys: 14.8%SR @ 19.3% POT @ Hobart
– Imogen Miller: 15%SR @ 10.7% POT @ Hobart
Best Bet
Bellasario (Hobart Race 9 No. 4):
Having a great preparation and arguably should have won a few more. Super jockey switch here with Sigrid Carr taking over from Hayley McCarthy. Think by this stage of the day they’ll be peeling to the outside and this mare should be in a great position to find the right lanes down the straight, after settling behind the speed.
Should be favourite and be winning.
$4.20

Best Each Way
Punter (Hobart Race 5 No. 2):
Open race and thought those in the market had enough convictions to look elsewhere. A runner that did appeal at odds was PUNTER, and yes although he too doesn’t win out of turn, I thought he brought a preparation full of substance to this contest. A key gear change here is a senior rider Kelvin Sanderson taking over from 4kg apprentice Catherine Van Munster. Kelvin should be able to land pretty handy, and I think he’ll run a strong mile. Worth something.
