Our Launceston Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Take The Sit (Launceston Race 6 No. 3)

She comes here off a couple of nice trials, and a Group 3 win last prep. She gets a lovely map and I anticipate Darmo will kick up from the pole draw to land leaders back, and eventually peeling off down the side of the course. If this contest were over 1200m 1st up she’d be a chips in job, but given she’s gone straight to 1450m on a wet track off a couple trials we might exercise a bit of caution.

BACK Take The Sit for 2 units WIN at $2.80+

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Steer For Lady (Launceston Race 4 No. 13):

She’s 1st up for the Flannery stable and has had 2 trials coming in. She looks to be settling a little nicer in-run and her gear changes reflect that. I think she’s got a lovely map to find the favourites back and although likely short of her best trip, she’s a smokey for mine given the tough conditions likely to find some out.

BACK Steer For Lady for 0.5 units WIN and 1 unit PLACE at $8.00/2.00

Best Lay

Thelma (Launceston Race 5 No. 8):

THELMA has come up favourite in early markets and I can’t for the life of me understand why. She’s drawn horrible with an average apprentice on board, and looks to have less upside than the rest, if figures are anything to go by. At the current prices she’s the one worth taking on.

LAY Thelma for 1 unit liability both WIN and PLACE at < $8.00/2.00
