Our Launceston Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.
Doonican (Launceston Race 9 No. 1)
Hopefully saving the best until last here. DOONICAN looks the best of the day, in his TAS debut. He comes down off a win at the Gold Coast for Chris Waller, now with John Blacker he looks pretty well placed here to add another win to his resume. He doesn’t look anything special, but really finds a limited field here, where most runners have been up ages and have reached their level. I think Chelsea Baker can slot into the running line behind the speed, peel out and go past these. STARION looks the main danger, but is the type of horse needing to be taken on trust, after a lacklustre campaign last time in.
BACK Doonican for 2 units WIN at $3.00+
Each Way
Multisanti (Launceston Race 3 No. 4):
Thought MULTISANTI’S debut was full of merit, where he gapped the rest along with GEE GEES CHORIS, behind Misirlou who has since run well again. If MULTISANTI can muster from out wide and find the front or OSL, I think he’ll be strong to the wire over 1400m and looks the runner with clear upside.
BACK Multisanti for 1 unit WIN and PLACE at $5.00/2.00+
Best Lay
Reward Achiever (Launceston Race 8 No. 5):
Tough day to find a lay, with a couple of runners I thought were unders likely being assisted by the on-pace track pattern and too risky to LAY, but I’ve landed on one in Race 8 in REWARD ACHIEVER. This horse was absolutely blessed in run last start, in what was a pretty weak affair where she sprinted past some tired horses falling back in her face. She has to take on a class horse in TAKE THE SIT here, and I just can’t get them that close together in the market.
