Will have to wait for the last of the day but I think ROYAL AND TOUGH is a good thing in the last. He’s absolutely airborne and gets back to a big track in Hobart here. He looks very comfortable at the mile, and this looks a good stepping stone on the way to a guineas. Happy to bet the shorts.

Pretty open race and went searching for something out wide. THOUGHTS’N’PRAYERS is going better than his form suggests and looks suited up to 1400m here. Gets a super pilot switch here with Liam Riordan going on, and if he can dictate the race from the front might prove hard to run down.

Best Lay
Fear The Sting (Hobart Race 3 No. 11):
Thought this filly was worth taking on at the price. Wobbled around late at both her career starts including last start at Launceston. She looked to respond poorly to the urgings of David Pires, who is a very strong rider. This filly may benefit from a rider change to a more gentle pilot going forward. I think she could be vulnerable again here at the short quote and am happy to lay.
