Pretty simple this one, I think with even luck AZARA just wins. She ticks a lot of boxes. Class horse, on-speed runner, drawn well, trialled enormous. BEST BET OF THE DAY. Rated Price – $2.30

Multisanti (Devonport Race 7 No. 1):

MULTISANTI has got me again. Well placed here in restricted grade, thought his maiden win was full of merit from a horrid draw. Went super keen on the run and still put them away when challenged late. Blinkers looked to have sharpened him up and I think from a better draw might be able to settle a touch kinder and show some toe late. Rated Price – $4.00

Stratisfaction (Devonport Race 2 No. 3):

Not much cream in the prices available, at time of writing, so I’ll opt for a LAY. I can’t get STRATISFACTION anywhere near the price available and although ex-VIC horses have a great record 1^st up in TAS over the last 12 months, It comes out of some very bad races and boosts a 15:1-0-0 career record. Rated Price – $8.00

Race Analysis

R1 1150m Maiden

SHARMAS LAST best of unraced brigade, likely to be kept safe by market. Wide draw scares me with EBB, think she may get caught wide or have to go back. Rated Price – $3.00

BORN A WINNER went enormous l/s, gets positive jockey switch, likely leader, on speed often fire early at Devonport of late, camp going super. Maybe goes up overs and can pinch it? Rated Price – $4.60

R2 1150m Class 1

Tough to win up in grade off maiden, but if T Johnstone goes to the front here and kicks at the corner I think QUICKEN UP will be mighty hard to catch. If she walks she may get out sprinted late by PROPHET EYES who dashed home quicker than her last start in her respective race. QUICKEN UP went enormous on debut 3WNC… with an economical, but aggressive ride here I think she can hold on?! Rated Price – $3.60

Blinkers looks to have made PROPHET EYES last time in. Returned a good figure last start and even though this is harde, is one of the main hopes. Gets a great run on speed. Rated Price – $5.00

BYNANCE looks a good chance but I can’t have so short with captain conservative on board. Went super last start, but I think the camp and rider deserve a tax on that price – never know when the horse will be given its best! Rated Price – $6.50

DUNCANNON was quite a strange run on debut. The horse looked absolutely gone at the corner and just kept kicking. Wasn’t given much peace up in front throughout the run. Suited up in trip to 1350m, home track. Just looks an Autobet. Rated Price – $3.00

RIGHT HOOK looks a good chance off an impressive TAS debut. Should have the leaders back or sitting on speed and go close. Rated Price – $4.20

HEWIE comes through same race where he debuted. Admittedly got a lot of favours in run but was humming late. Not sure he gets same favours but a rough chance. Rated Price – $10.00

MISS TUPPENCE resumes here and it looks great placement by Team Trinder. Thrown in at 57kg vs her easiest opposition to date, she’s come back well if her trials are anything to go by, where she was steered by the same pilot who jumps on, on game day. If they go forward it could be game over early, but if she settles for a spot midfield or worse, she can peel off late down the centre, MT should prove too good. Rated Price – $2.80

EMILY no doubt went into everyone’s black book last start, caught wide in transit and flashing late. But I’m always a bit apprehensive following up runners who cop that sort of run on resumption. Should find a nice spot in running here, potentially leading, but I think she’s vulnerable late off that last outing. Rated Price – $3.80

TILTHERWARSYOU is the blowout for mine. In super form and eats up the dirt. Admittedly this is a tough assignment but she’s really backed it up on the clock of late. Rated Price – $9.00
