Our Murray Bridge Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Currency Kamar (Murray Bridge Race 3 No. 11)

There was plenty to like about the debut run of this three-year-old filly trained by Emma Hubbard at Strathalbyn. She ran home strongly from the tail of the field to finish 2nd over 1200m at Strathalbyn on 26th October on a heavy track. She will have benefited from the experience and the extra 200m should suit. Looks the leading contender.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Handshake (Murray Bridge Race 5 No. 2):
This five-year-old Dundeel gelding trained by Paul Preusker has a win and two places from six starts. He resumed after over a year off the track for 5.1 lengths 9th over 1765m at Geelong on 29 September, then boxed on steadily for 3.7 lengths 6th over 1800m at Casterton on 18 October. Should be fitter now and looks well worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay

Yardstick (Murray Bridger Race 8 No. 12):
This five-year-old Criterion gelding is the early favourite in this BM 58 Handicap over 1400m. He led most of the way before tiring late and running 0.7 length 2nd over 1300m at Balaklava on 12 October, then got to the lead early and continued to weaken finishing 9th over 1200m at Strathalbyn on 26 October on a soft track. He’s only won once in 22 starts and I’m prepared to bet against him here as he goes up in journey.
