Today’s Meeting Key Comments

It’s a rare Saturday meeting for Gawler – only the second one for this year. The track is a Soft 7 with more showers forecast which means it is unlikely to be upgraded to a Good rating. The rail is in the true position for the first time since April 25. Jockeys to follow are apprentices Alana Livesay and Campbell Rawiller.

Our Gawler Racing Tips for the weekend.

Best Bet

Exalted Fire  (Gawler Race 7 No. 1)
This five-year-old trained by Michael Hickmott was beaten less than a half-length when resuming for 3rd over 1400m at Murray Bridge. He goes well at Gawler, handles soft going and gets a 2kg claim for Campbell Rawiller who knows him well. Top chance.

Best Each Way

Rose Ring (Gawler Race 8 No. 9)
This 3YO filly won over 1200m at Swan Hill on a heavy track on 9 June, then ran 2nd over 1200m at Gawler on a heavy track on 21 June. She is going well this preparation and looks a great each-way chance.
