This three-year-old Lonhro gelding has placed at all three of his runs. He resumed from a 26 week break over 1100m at Morphettville on 3 September, where he got to a clear lead before weakening in the closing stages. Fitter now and ready to win this maiden plate.

Smiling Assassin (Morphettville Race 3 No. 3)
This six-year-old gelding trained by Garret Lynch at Murray Bridge has been running very well at this distance range for his last few starts. He raced in the back half of the field until the 400m where he chased gamely and gained the upper hand late for a 0.3 length win on a slow track over 2500m at Morphettville on 3 September, then came from 10th and finished 1.9 lengths 2nd on a heavy 10 over 3150m at Mount Ganbier on 11 September. On a six day back-up and rates highly with Kayla Crowther retaining the ride. Looks a solid each-way chance.

Best Lay
Salt Bay (Morphettville Race 5 No. 12)
This eight-year-old mare is the early favourite in this BM 60 Handicap over 1500m. She raced on inferior going throughout when 7 lengths 10th over 1400m at Murray Bridge on 6 August, then came from 12th to finish 2.1 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Morphettville Parks on 27 August. Having her first run for trainer Will Clarken but has only won 4 from 41 starts so I’m willing to risk her here.
