Our Morphettville Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The feature is the Christmas Handicap (race 8).

Who’s Clang (Morphettville Race 5 No. 4)
Has a win and a place from his 2 race starts. He debuted with a 0.9 length win over 1000m at Morphettville Parks on 5 November, where he chased solidly and took over in the final 50m. At his second start he started from the outside barrier and was wide throughout where he battled solidly for 1.1 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Morphettville on 26 November. Has a much better draw here and looks the leading contender.

Each Way

Smokin’ Val (Morphettville Race 9 No. 7)
This five-year-old mare has 2 wins and 8 places from 23 starts and can be hard to follow at times. She was slowly away, raced keenly then didn’t finish off as expected when 6 lengths 9th over 1100m at Morphettville on 16 November, then she worked home late to grab 2nd over 1100m at Morphettville on 26 November. Gets a 3kg claim here and is worth an each-way bet.

$5.50

Best Lay

Hopon Harry (Morphettville Race 2 No. 3)
This four-year-old gelding trained by Leon Macdonald & Andrew Gluyas is the early favourite in this BM 82 Handicap over 1800m. He was a 1.4 length winner over 1550m at Morphettville Parks on 5 November, then chased solidly but never looked likely when 2.1 lengths 4th over 1400m at Morphettville Parks on 19 November. Untested at the distance and other runners offer better value.

Our Albany Horse Racing Tips for Thursday’s meeting. Comments The track is good and the rail is +6 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Hoolahoops (Albany Race 7 No. 9) Hoolahoops wound-up steadily to just miss over 1600m at Albany last start. The rise in trip should suit and with the 2kg claim for Zephen Johnston-Porter she will only carry 52.5kg. This looks a winnable race. $4.60      Each Way Vrum (Albany Race
