Best Bet | Race 6 #4 Dreamreacher

Went into the blackbook after winning impressively second-up at Doomben a fortnight ago. He’s open to more improvement and the wide gate should be no issue, as he’ll get back late and steam home off what appears a strong tempo despite the small field. Jaden Lloyd stays on and brings a useful claim taking him down to 55kg. He should be winning again.

Next Best | Race 4 #10 Canadian Dancer

Looks well placed here for the flying O’Dea-Hoysted stable. An up-and-coming three-year-old with plenty of upside and improvement to follow from the first-up win. Admittedly, this is much harder than that race at Ipswich, but the 1600m looks perfect for this daughter of Vancouver. The wide gate is a slight concern as there’s plenty of pace and she’s likely to be up in the first half dozen / midfield. Jockey Ben Thompson will be looking to find cover before peeling out and using the wide expanses of the Sunshine Coast track to mow down her rivals.

Best Each Way | Race 2 #2 Golly Hutt

An honest galloper who does his best work at this track with all three victories being recorded here at the Sunshine Coast. His winning chances are probably limited as he hasn’t won for two years and comes up against the long odds-on favourite Palladas, but I’ve got no doubt he won’t be far away. He now gets to his pet distance and is fitter after two solid enough runs this preparation.
