Best bet – Race 1 #9 Warmth
Hoping to land the cash early in this rich maiden race – an event which is on the radar of all the big stables year-in, year-out. Warmth is a 4yo mare by Hinchinbrook who looks perfectly placed for this following three smart trials to prepare for her resumption. Gun hoop Tommy Berry rode her at her last two trials and remains on board here. From gate three, she should get every chance in the run. Her form around Lady of Luxury (now a multiple winner) reads well, going down by only 0.2 length to her when fave in the race.
Next best – Race 4 #1 Krone
A winner at this track and the class mare in the field. I thought she did enough first-up on a heavy track (a tough ask) when doing her best work late. She’s won at this track/distance, flies second-up and the step out to 1300m appears ideal. I love the midfield draw – she can get an economical run and saved up for one run at the business end.
Best each-way – Race 5 #2 Baller
This bloke is simply bursting to win a race. His three runs this time in suggest he’s an even better horse this preparation. He should be peaking here fourth-up and barrier two will mean he’s smothered up, hopefully no worse than midfield, and saved for one crack late. He’s a winner this track/distance and the engagement of Tommy Berry is a plus.
