Best Bet | Race 8 #4 Far Too Easy

Drawn to get the perfect run and is unbeaten both first-up and at the 1000m. He’s a super talented galloper on his day and is rightfully targeting the Kosciusko as the goal this campaign. He trialled well winning at Deagon a few weeks ago and then had a nice gallop in between races at Murwillumbah. He looks primed and ready to run a big race first-up. Eagle Farm poses no issue for him as he ran just off the talented Me Me Lagarde at this track last preparation. Should get the gun run and be able to hold off the likely fast-finishing It’s Me.

Next Best | Race 1 #11 Sweet Margot May

Looks like a two-horse race between these two talented girls. Fetch is the early favourite but will have to overcome a wide gate, whereas Sweet Margot May is drawn to get an economical run from the good draw. She will likely settle midfield, and with plenty of speed on, she should be suited to unleash late. She also is proven at Eagle Farm, beating Legal Esprit last preparation. She is also unbeaten first-up and trialled well behind Isotope.

Best Each Way plays

Race 3 #1 Festival Prince

Quirky galloper who goes especially well for talented apprentice Jasmine Cornish who has ridden him four times for three wins. The query is he’s never won beyond 1200m and he’s stepping out to 1835m here, but he gives the impression the distance should be no concern. The 3kg claim for Cornish brings him down to 56.5kg and he ran well here last start despite having a few problems (overracing and copping a check at the 300m). Two starts ago he made good ground late when not far behind Go Wandji.

Race 5 #5 Master Showman

This Sydney-sider is first-up and comes off two solid Rosehill trials. Both were on rain-affected ground, but I feel he’s a horse who is even better suited on dry surfaces. He has only seen a good track once in his career when running close-up behind Sejarden on debut. He will get a good track here and I like that he’s kicking off his campaign over the 1200m. From barrier five, Brodie Loy should have him close to the speed and he’ll be hard to run down at a good price.
