Press Forward (Hawkesbury Race 1 No.4)

He was scratched from Gosford Tuesday for this race. I thought he was very brave last time out at Kembla Grange, where he was a very tight second to stablemate Bat Out Of Hell, who ran well enough at Scone on Monday and tied in second with Rippin Ruis. All three horses were almost 2.5 lengths in front of the rest of the field, which is always beneficial to see. He has drawn well here and gets a 2kg weight relief thanks to Ellen Hennessy and I love the drop back to 1100m, especially since he is likely to sit in the front two. He will give us a sight.

Best Each Way

Sempreinte (Hawkesbury Race 6 No.2)

I think this guy is slightly over the odds here. He was just fair first up at Mornington when finishing three lengths back in second before heading to this track over the 1400m and finishing a distant last. He was found to have had a respiratory problem post-race which is a clear forgive for his efforts. The tongue tie has been applied here which should help his breathing and it looks as though he could get an uncontested lead here over 1500m. He should be peaking third-up and is worth an each-way ticket.

Current Price: $7.00
