Nasturtium | (Warwick Farm Race 6 No. 1)
I really like the son of Snitzel to make a winning return following a great first preparation. He was undefeated going into his final start last preparation where he finished a distance sixth whilst up in grade, but the stewards report he didn’t handle the track conditions, but I think the actual reason for running poorly was the second part of the stewards report saying he had poor post-race recovery. He has had two very good trials in preparation for this one and despite getting 61kg, he will get a nice 3kg claim thanks to Dylan Gibbons. He is back in grade, back to 1000m, and should get into a nice spot from the inside draw. The Ryan/Alexiou camp generally has their runners ready to rock and roll first-up, so I expect him to be no different.

Ningaloo Star | (Warwick Farm Race 5 No.11)
On what is a tough day, I reckon this girl is overs and could run a decent race at a nice price. It took her three starts to break her maiden status last preparation before being given a spell, followed by one trial to get prepared for this preparation. She had a nice run first-up at Wyong around the turn and was bolting but couldn’t get any clear air behind rival Insurrection, and then she finally got air and ran home well into fourth. She ran the ninth quickest final 200m of the entire meeting, which was better than four of the winners on the day. Her rival Insurrection is half our girl’s price, yet we meet him 2.5kg better off at the weights for a 2.2 length defeat with excuses. She is drawn much better here to sit closer in the run, drops back to taking on her own age, and goes up to a favourable 1200m. She isn’t the worst each-way bet on the card.
