Zou Tiger | (Randwick-Kensington Race 2 No. 2)
As he enters his second preparation, the form stacks up nicely for this Zoustar colt. He debuted with a 3.3 length defeat when second to the now Group 2 Silver Shadow winner in Zougotcha before heading to Gosford for an Open grade 2yo race where he finished under a length in second to Resonator, while beating home Northern Beaches, London, and Contemporary by 1.5 lengths+. He has had two nice trials over 780m and 1030m with James McDonald aboard in preparation for this 1300m race, where James McDonald sticks with him. I love the draw, he handles all surfaces (if the rain hits hard) and has the talent to win this well with even luck.

New Republic | (Randwick-Kensington Race 4 No.10)
This is an interesting runner that has a few nice factors pointing in his direction. His best runs last preparation were over 1400m, suggesting extra distance might not hurt as he is a get-back type. He has come to Saturday grade races in Sydney for both runs this preparation and was held up in both runs, not getting a chance to be tested at all but still finishing against genuine midweek contenders. He drops back to midweek grade, has drawn okay though I would have preferred a slightly wider draw with his pattern and in a race with five Chris Waller acceptors, Hugh Bowman has opted to ride this bloke in his first attempt at 1550m. There has been some early money for him, so I reckon he is a big chance to run well, will just need luck.
