Cinderella Days (Canterbury Race 2 No.7)
This Astern filly was all set to run at Warwick Farm last week before she was scratched after she lunged at the front of the gates and by doing so, she made heavy contact with the front gates. Instead, she will run here at Canterbury, where she is in an easier grade and against her own age group. She has drawn ideally in barrier one and although there are runners with pace to her outside, she should be able to hold the rail and even sit just off the leaders. I am expecting her to get a suck run throughout and for her to be too strong late.

James Barrie (Canterbury Race 4 No.9)
This bloke was very good first up at Kembla Grange in his first Australian run, winning by half a length on the line. The form has stood up nicely with Burning Need winning and placing at provincial level which gives me confidence that he can run well. He then ran a bold race at this track over the 1900m but in the end, the track conditions were too much for him as he finished a 3.6 length fourth. I love the drop back to 1550m here and back against his own sex works in his favour. He is drawn ideally in a race that has very little pace, so he should settle in a forward position, and with a nice ride from Winona Costin, he should run a bold race.
