This five-year-old Excelebration gelding trained by Paul Perry at Newcastle has three wins and nine places from 30 starts. He came from last on the rails and was held up approaching the turn but ran on steadily for 3.4 lengths 5th over 1600m at Taree on 21 November, then got the split and looked the winner but was grabbed late for 0.5 length 2nd in the Tuncurry Mile on a heavy track on 6 December. Gets a strong jockey upgrade to Tommy Berry and looks the leading chance.

Rock The Bells (Wyong Race 5 No. 2):
This four-year-old Fastnet Rock gelding trained by Richard & Michael Freedman has one win and six places from 10 starts. At the end of last campaign he kept chasing for 2 lengths 2nd over 1880m at Newcastle on 22 May then was spelled for 23 weeks. On resuming he chased hard for 0.6 length 2nd in a Class 1 Handicap over 1400m at Newcastle on 30 October. Should go well and looks a nice each-way chance.

Longbottom (Wyong Race 7 No. 4):
This five-year-old Sidestep mare trained by Kris Lees has four wins and eight places from 25 starts and is the early favourite in this BM 64 Handicap over 1100m. She settled at the rear and chased hard for 2.2 lengths 6th over 1100m at Wyong on 30 September, then chased steadily on the heavy track for 3.1 lengths 6th over 1250m at Wyong on 15 October. Returns from an eight week let-up and hasn’t won in three starts at Wyong. Offers no value.
