Star Mistress (Gosford Race 6 No.11)
This girl did very well first up on a very wet Beaumont track, winning by half a length despite the horse being hard to ride out late when she was laying out. She gets a nice weight advantage on most of her rivals here which is going to be beneficial, especially for a Waterhouse/Bott horse who will already be fighting fit and making her own luck up front. This is a nice step up in grade for her second up and she gets a much stronger rider aboard in Tim Clark. She will give us a great sight in front on a track that should suit her down to the ground.

Dreamdeel (Gosford Race 1 No.3)
This bloke is a nice each-way proposition to start the day. His form this preparation has been very consistent with his last two runs being ridden by the jockey today in Andrew Gibbons. He still managed to finish 0.4 of a length in fourth at Hawkesbury last time out despite laying out in the straight. I don’t think the slow tempo he set in the race suited him and I think he is better chasing the leader than being in front. He has drawn nicely here and we should see him get his chance late.

The track is Good and the shiny new running rail is in the true position. The feature is the $30,000 Murray Reid Memorial Pingrup Cup over 1660m (race 5) where last year's winner Oddoneout returns to defend his title.
