Spitfire is having his first run for trainer Matthew Dale. Last start he finished 0.7 length 4th in a Maiden Plate over 1600m at Wyong on 8 December where he struck interference at the start then took over at the top of the stright but hung out and was run down late. With better racing manners he should have won, and looks the winner here.
