Dimaggio (Hawkesbury Race 6 No. 1)
I have warmed to this Deep Field gelding following his last two starts this preparation. Two back he was much too good for his rivals in a benchmark 64 at Kembla before heading to this track and running over the 1300m in open grade. He wasn’t disgraced either, narrowly missing out on the line to a horse who has performed admirably in town. That start was a week ago, so he is on the quick backup here and he goes up 2kg as he is back in grade. Lovely draw and Hutchings remains on, I think there is some value around the price.

Garmish (Hawkesbury Race 9 No.3)
First up he was a nice winner at Gosford before heading to a midweek benchmark 72 at Warwick Farm and finishing two lengths back in fifth behind Savoury whilst travelling wide without cover. He drops back majorly in grade, gets one of the best wet track riders aboard and he will handle the conditions and distance. He has drawn wide, so he will need luck but he is worth the speck.
