Tidal Impact does its best racing when fresh and is unbeaten from 2 first-up attempts. One of those was a 9.5 length romping over The Storm In Me which sticks out as a strong form-line. A bit of early luck will be needed from the wide draw but expecting Tidal Impact to use its good gate speed and find the front. It’ll be awfully hard to mow down from there. The $4.80 holds a large appeal.

Do As You’re Told (Port Macquarie Race 4 No. 6):
Expecting improvement out of Do As You’re Told. It pulled up slow to recover last run and the fact that Gibbons takes the steer over the current favourite Terrameadeas is a good push. In a day where conditions are expected to be heavy, its worth noting the debut win of Do As You’re Told was on a soft 7 track so it will be handling the footing. That win rated extremely well in comparison to the field and if it can find that form again it’ll be going close.

Don’t Doubt Katie (Port Macquarie Race 6 No. 5):
The map looks awkward for Don’t Doubt Katie, who has its fair share of ability but will need to be very good from the barrier. It’s only effort on a very heavy track was sub-par and with the current set up it looks a risky bet.
