Eduardo | (Royal Randwick Race 5 No. 1)

The beast Eduardo is returning on Saturday after a 5-month break and with no Nature Strip around, this is his for the taking. Despite only winning one of his three starts, he wasn’t disgraced in his other two races, placing to Nature Strip and Home Affairs in Group 1 races. He comes into this on the back of two nice trials and since coming to the Joe Pride stable in July 2020, he has raced over the 1000m only three times, for two wins and a third. His first-up record since coming to Sydney reads three wins and one placing in four attempts and he loves Randwick. Weather is no concern regardless and he should be winning this to start his campaign.

Current Price: $2.10

Opal Ridge | (Royal Randwick Race 1 No.8)

We black booked this girl on July 30 following her run in behind Troach in an open two-year-old race, where she was held up in the straight, but still managed to run the quickest final 400m and 200m of the entire meeting when running second. She took a big step last start running in the Silver Shadow Stakes, but she was caught wide without cover and finished 5.1 lengths back in eighth. She comes back majorly in grade, is drawn ideally, and gets James McDonald aboard, who apparently has been chasing the ride. She maps to get a dream run and is definitely the one to beat.

Current Price: $2.60
