Shades of Rose | (Rosehill Gardens Race 5 No. 7)
Although I didn’t back her last start, she has been painful for punters since returning and this might be her last chance to win the punters back. She was the $2.10 favourite first up when the saddle slipped and she buck jumped, taking to part in the race. She was ordered to trial and did so successfully and again started $2.25 favourite last start. She travelled wide without cover the entire race, leading in the straight until the 50m mark when she was beaten just over half a length to The Big Easy. She gets a positive jockey change with James McDonald aboard, drawn ideally, and drops back in grade. It’s hers to lose.

This is by the far longest price this bloke has started and it is probably due to the wide draw. In five career starts he has won just one race but he has finished second in the other four career starts. This preparation has started with two placings behind Riva Del Sol and Pretty Wild which sets him up pretty well fitness-wise for this race. Hugh Bowman sticks with him which is key and he will come into barrier 14 after scratchings (minimum), and this will definitely help him when it comes to his map. Hopefully, the track plays fairly and he gets the luck because he will need it, but despite this, he looks like a decent each-way play.
