Best of Bordeaux | (Rosehill Gardens Race 9 No. 1)
Pretty excited to see this bloke return following a very good first preparation. He won his first two on the bounce in the Group 3 Canonbury and Group 2 Silver Slipper before finishing a gallant second in the Golden Slipper. He has since had two trials which were good, and he wasn’t asked to do anything special. In the second trial, James McDonald let him have a little bit of rein and he took off, winning the trial by almost two lengths, running the final 400m 4.1 lengths above average. He has the early pace to handle the barrier and James McDonald is his regular rider now, so we should expect the best each time he goes out. This is a lot easier than what he contested in the Autumn, and providing he comes back okay, he could be the one to really burst out of his shell and announce himself in the Spring.

Oz Legend | (Rosehill Gardens Race 3 No. 11)
This bloke has shown that there is talent there but in three starts, he has faced nothing but wet tracks. He will relish the chance to run on a dryer deck on Saturday as all his best form overseas has been on the dry surfaces. I didn’t mind his 3.8 length third placing at Canterbury last start and his work through the line suggests he is wanting further as well. He gets a bigger track, a dryer track, and a little bit extra in the distance, so I am expecting an improved performance. Not to mention, Hugh Bowman is riding him at 55.5kg, which itself shows intent. He looks a nice each way price.
