Picarones (Randwick-Kensington Race 2 No. 1)
Happy to back this Godolphin mare who had absolutely no luck last time out. At Warwick Farm over this distance, she was held up early in the straight and a run never presented for it at any stage, which ended up with the horse not being fully tested over the concluding stages. This is a beautiful drop back to a benchmark 72 against her own sex and she should be able to settle off the fence with cover before making her run in the ideal ground. She is better than these and should be winning.

Ripped (Randwick-Kensington Race 5 No.5)
Happy to take the risk with this New Zealand six-year-old gelding making his Australian debut. His first-up form is generally pretty good, winning 2/3 with the one that he missed, he was unlucky not to go close. He hasn’t won since 2020 which is obviously a query, but this isn’t a deep race, and each time he has drawn well, he has run well. I think he is a nice price to have a risky bet.
