Procrastinator (Newcastle Race 3 No. 9)

This 900m scamper at Newcastle truly is a horses-for-courses type race, and it is won by fast horses like this guy. His first-up run was good and took Bayezid to the limit when falling to him by 0.3 of a length when running second. Last start he was too good for the opposition when winning easily by 1.8 lengths, again, over the Newcastle 900m. He jumps into a benchmark 64 against the older horses and is draw wide, hence the price on offer but he has some nice gate speed and should be able to get across in due course. This isn’t an easy 900m race as there are some handy provincial sprinters, but I am confident that he will be thereabouts.

Current Price: $4.00

Midnight Oasis (Newcastle Race 4 No.2)

This girl resumed here at Newcastle last start and finished 0.7 of a length back in fourth behind some handy ones like Taurids and Avebury. She come up the inside which wasn’t the place to be on the day, and just peaked over the final 200m. She takes on her own sex in this one and is drawn/maps to get a nice run throughout, plus it is well known that the Blake Spriggs/Matthew Smith combination is pure fire. They have combined over the past year for a 22.8% winning strike rate at almost 30% POT, which is immaculate. Considering everything, she is massively over the odds and worth a bet.

Current Price: $18.00

Our Doomben Horse Racing Tips for the 28th of February. The track is in the soft range. The rail is +7 metres. Best Bet Real Rush (Doomben Race 4 No. 12) Has had a stack of market support early. Barrier 9 makes things a little tricky but has won 2 from 3 trials and looks very well placed in this moderate company. $2.45   Best Each Way The Drover (Doomben Race 5 No. 1) Hard

Our Launceston Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday. The track is a Soft 5 and the rail is +3 metres. The features are the Hellova Street Stakes (race 7), Launceston Cup (race 8) and Vamos Stakes (race 9). As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with an advantage to those who find the inside lanes in the straight. Best Bet D'oro Star  (Launceston Race 5 No. 1) He's been in the trifecta
