Global Deel (Bathurst Race 4 No. 11)
I really like this Dundeel gelding on debut following his three decent trials in the lead-up. In his latest two at Gosford and Kembla, he has been very good through the line, and being by Dundeel, the 1400m looks an ideal starting point. He has been ridden on the pace which is going to suit this Bathurst track, especially with the lack of pace in this one. Alysha Collett rides for Bjorn Baker, and the stable has a 31.3% strike rate at Bathurst over the last 12 months. This isn’t a deep maiden and he is a terrific chance.

Another shallow maiden here and I like this Deep Field gelding who began his preparation with a new peak performance. To the eye, it looked like he just plugged away but there is a good chance condition gave out as he really picked up again over the final 200m, running the seventh quickest final 200m of the entire meeting after sitting on the pace outside the lead. He was brilliant through the line also, so 1200m looks the logical step and he is no stranger to Bathurst. I expect him to hold the rail and be there in the finish.
