Sistine Queen (Scone Race 6 No. 9)
This Written Tycoon mare is screaming out for a mile following her last start second at Dubbo. In a slogging affair, she sat fourth/fifth in the run with Clayton Gallagher really getting stuck into her around 600m out. It wasn’t until around 400m out that she started to really get into her gears, running the quickest final 400m and 200m sectionals of the race, and that was while she was on the inferior ground on the day. Her work through the line suggests she will eat up 1600m and with Gallagher sticking and the wide-open Scone track, she is a big chance to win, providing she doesn’t give them a massive start.

Thunder Fox (Scone Race 1 No.3)
Happy to speck this Kuroshio gelding who I think is slightly over the odds. He has been food over his last two running second and fourth respectively, but I think back to 1200m is going to be more suited. The form guide races that he is 0/2 on soft 7 and 0/1 on heavy 8, but in all three runs, he was either three wide the race or racing without cover, so I am willing to give him another chance. There doesn’t look to be a lot of pace engaged so I expect the apprentice to take him to the front and not look back. I think he is ready to run a big race.
