Spring Break (Tuncurry Race 8 No. 4)
This son of Tavistock ran a bold 1.5 length fourth last start at Hawkesbury behind some mid-week horses. He travelled fast in the early stages and still picked up nicely over the final 200m with 59.5kg on his back. He had the blinkers on for the first time on that day, and they come off today with the winkers being applied which should aid him and he has drawn nicely to be able to get a suck run throughout over the 2100m. I think he will handle the distance and be strong to the line.

Athena Nyx (Tuncurry Race 3 No.12)
I loved her run first up at Scone when finishing under two lengths back in sixth. She settled towards the rear of the field before coming with a nice run, but found 900m just a touch too short for her and she was very strong over the final 200m and through the line. She is entered for Tamworth Monday, so one eye on that, but if she remains here, I think this is a very winnable maiden race with no weight on her back.
