I wouldn’t normally tip a horse having her start as a Best Bet but people are already talking about her. She is undefeated in 4 lead-up trials – the latest by 5 lengths at Muswellbrook. Seems like a horse that can win at her first start.

Best Each Way
Just Strolling (Scone Race 8 No. 3)
He was unlucky 2 starts back when he was bumped heavily shortly after the start and on straightening was never clear for a run. He also lost a plate and still finished 3 .5 lengths off the winner. Last start he won by 1.3 lengths over 1050m at Inverell on 1 January where he gave nothing else a chance. Gets a big claim here and looks a nice each-way chance.

Best Lay
Xelby (Scone Race 7 No. 14)
Xelby is the early favourite in this Country Boosted Maiden Plate over 1100m. He is a first starter in a race where a couple of runners look close to a win. Has drawn fairly wide and I’m prpepared to risk him at the short odds.
