Sheila (Albury Race 3 No. 4)
I know there isn’t a lot to go on, but I really loved this mare’s lone trial at Goulburn. She was pretty much in cruise mode the for entire trial and despite only just narrowly winning the trial, she looked to have a bit under the bonnet. The figures weren’t too bad and kept a similar pace throughout the 800m trial, which was on a similar surface to what she faces today. The draw is a bit ordinary, but I think she can slot in nicely around midfield or better. I am expecting a bold run from a decent stable.

Mescaminto (Albury Race 2 No.1)
I think this daughter of Kemadec has found the right race to get the third win of her career. She is dropping back sharply in grade which will see her carry an extra 2.5kg but that’s nothing new for her and she has performed well with big weights prior. She has only had one go at a mile prior to today and it was in a race where she was well out of her grade. She doesn’t mind the heavy going and with Billy Owen back in the saddle, I reckon she is a big chance in a very shallow Class 2.
