Romero | (Pinjarra Scarpside Race 2 No.3) / Madam Kisses | (Pinjarra Scarpside Race 2 No.4)

This looks like a really nice class 3 race and there is a couple I am going to be playing. Romero is having his first start in the west after a fruitful time with Matthew Dale in Moruya, where he finished in the top three in eight of his nine starts, winning two of them. His form in the east warrants him to be well in the market here, despite no public trials. The fact that he naturally sits on pace is going to be gold for him here and I expect a bold showing. Madam Kisses is the other I want to play after her luckless second at Ascot 12 days ago. She was wide throughout the event and was expected to do well according to the market. She will be third-up here from an ideal draw and maps to get a good run throughout. I think we can get the winner between these two.

Happy to take on this first starter for the Grant Williams stable. The trials weren’t too bad but he has to take on some horses who are finding the right race to break their maiden in. He has drawn barrier six, which could cause an issue depending on where they intend to sit and he will have to carry the top weight on top of that. Happy to watch him.

She is coming out of two nice form races, where she ran second and third respectively. Her latest was very good, only to be run over last by Mojo Rhythm and Glacier Miss, who have both won since in metro and provincial races. They have drawn ideally, and they will look to head forward from the favourable draw, and I love the fact the blinkers are going on for the first time. They have tried a few different gear adjustments over her 11-start career, so hopefully, the blinkers do the trick, and she can finally break out of that maiden status. Either way, she will give us a sight!
