This four-year-old Reward for Effort gelding has two wins and a place from three runs this campaign. He wound-up slowly for 0.9 length 2nd over 1000m at Northam on 25 August, then fought hard to draw clear late for a 0.3 length win over 1100m at Northam on 1 September. Should race on the speed and looks a nice each-way chance.

Mystery Island (Belmont Race 5 No. 4)
This five-year-old gelding is the early favourite in this Class 3 handicap over 1650m. He returns from a 12 week let-up and has only won one of seven first-up starts. There are lots of very fit horses in this race and I’m prepared to risk him.
