Fred Kersley trains this five-year-old Patronize gelding who has placed at all three of his starts. At the end of his first campaign he fought evenly for 2 lengths 3rd over 1300m at Northam on 3 October, then was spelled for 26 weeks. He dwelt at the start, losing 2 lengths, then ran on strongly from the back of the field for 0.5 length 2nd over 1200m at Pinjarra Park on 3 April. Should probably have won without the slow start and ready to break his maiden status.

Irritable Rodnee (Pinjarra Scarpside Race 8 No. 4)
This five-year-old Zoffany gelding trained by Stephen Miller has had 18 starts for three wins and six places. He was inconvenienced near the 200m and ran 2.2 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Ascot on 13 March, then led all the way and fought hard for a 1.2 length win over 1600m at Ascot on 23 March. He’s drawn very wide but has early speed and the 3 kg claim should help. Looks a nice each-way chance.

Sweet Admiration (Pinjarra Scarpside Race 7 No. 5)
This three-year-old filly is the early favourite in this Class One Handicap over 1400m. She peeled three wide into the straight and overhauled the leaders late for nearly a length win over 1200m at Pinjarra Scarpside on 3 March, then was outkicked by the leaders for 3.3 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Ascot on 23 March. Carries more weight and drawn wide. Willing to risk.
