Spritely Star (Ascot Race 5 No. 11)
This three-year-old filly has only had two race starts but has notched up a win and a place. She debuted for 1.86 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Pinjarra Park on 6 January where she wound up steadily, then she ran on strongly for a 0.38 length win over 1413m at Pinjarra Park on 21 January. Her final 400m sectionals were good in both runs and she looks well-placed here.

King’s Authority (Ascot Race 8 No. 2):
This six-year-old Snitzel gelding has raced 43 times and although he has only won twice he has placed 19 times, including at his last three starts. He ran on strongly six wide down the straight for 0.41 length 2nd over 1100m at Esperance on 2 January, then he looked the winner but was picked off late for 0.68 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Ascot on 20 January. Looks a good each-way chance here.

My Hidden Journey (Ascot Race 2 No. 1):
This four-year-old Good Journey gelding is the early favourite in this 2YO & Up Maiden over 1200m. He ran on strongly for 0.96 length 2nd in a Belmont maiden over 1200m on 2 September, then was disappointing when 4.76 lengths 10th in Belmont maiden over 1300m on 19 September and was sent for a spell. Resuming after 20 weeks he has not even placed in three previous first-up starts and I’m willing to risk him.
